Lindemans Cawarra Merlot

by Terry 25. October 2009 14:23

caw_shiraz_cab A classic BBQ wine, the Lindeman’s Cawarra Merlot is value for money at the lower price range of $10 to $15.

While not a great cellaring wine, the 2004 did benefit from a few years in the bottle to produce a relatively easy drinking medium bodied red.

A good deep colour and slight hint of berries with a softish touch to the palate made this a pleasant enough wine, best served with a red meat meal.  However, it is also light enough to serve with white meats and fish.

Overall, reasonable for the money.
