A Trip to the Wine Locker

by Aussie Wine Guy 18. July 2009 16:31

Today we took a trip north to our wine storage facility in Brisbane.  We had to deposit a couple of new bottles in exchange for a half dozen which are ready to drink.  We deposited the 2004 Penfolds Grange with a 2003 Penfolds St Henri, a 2005 Dalwhinnie Shiraz and a 2004 Chateau Grand Puy Lacoste (Grand Cru, Paulliac).

Here’s a snapshot of the current storage:

At some point in the near future we will need to run a quick stock take.  Our last trip resulted in the markings on the outside of each case (we scribbled the context of each box).  We exchanged the four bottles for a mixed half dozen red & white wines plus a 1999 Cyril Henschke Cabernet Sauvignon which is drinking right now (or prior).
