Greetings on Australia Day in 2010. We have taken the time to put down our tasting glasses, to briefly discuss a very for an important issue. Please read on. We have noted with alarm, the Rudd Government’s plans to introduce legislation into the Australian Parliament this year which, if approved, would enforce a mandatory filter of all Internet traffic at the ISP level throughout Australia. Aussie Wine Guy wholeheartedly supports the No Clean Feed and Anti-Censorship initiatives an...

Hi Everyone, Today AWG visited our wine storage facility and did stock take (yet again) confirming inventory and we have now updated the lists on the site. What a great day to hang out at a temperature controlled location! Outside it must have been close to 35’C, while our wine is nice and safe, cooled in a refrigerated climate in storage near the inner city of Brisbane. Check out the updated lists! Cheers..AWG

Hello Everyone, Wishing you all the best for the holiday season from everyone at Aussie Wine Guy. This year has been a relatively progressive year as we have started to iron out some kinks in our review and publishing processes and we’ve also welcomed some new contributors to the team. The new year sees a new vintage of wines to be released, and our empty wine tasting glasses wait patiently. We hope ...

Hello. We landed in Paris late on Saturday night. Technically it is now Sunday (1:30am) and we’ve managed to secure an Internet connection for the first time in almost a week. On Tuesday we are heading to Bordeaux as planned. On Thursday there should be some great notes and photos for that leg of our trip posted here, so please check back soon. Regards, AWG.

G’day, AWG is proud to say we are docked at the beautiful French port of Cherbourg today after visiting the 13th century abbey at Mont St Michel yesterday. Later this month we will be visiting the legendary town of Bordeaux to tour a number of 1855 classified growth estates in person. Tonight we are dining in a specialty restaurant and without a doubt, good wine will be on the menu. Stay tuned…AWG

Today we took a trip north to our wine storage facility in Brisbane. We had to deposit a couple of new bottles in exchange for a half dozen which are ready to drink. We deposited the 2004 Penfolds Grange with a 2003 Penfolds St Henri, a 2005 Dalwhinnie Shiraz and a 2004 Chateau Grand Puy Lacoste (Grand Cru, Paulliac). Here’s a snapshot of the current storage: At some point in the near future we will need to run a quick stock take. Our last trip resulted in the markings on ...

If you live in Europe or have notable experience with the regions and have some suggestions on the best regions & wineries to visit, please get in contact - We’d be very interested to hear from you.
